Kyusho Jitsu is the Japanese term for the Chinese term Dim Mak, which means "deadly touch". It is based on the theory of acupuncture. Until the 13th century, acupuncture was only used for healing purposes. Two Chinese doctors got the idea that it could work reversed and turned this idea into a scientific study. They where very surprised by the destructive effect of the pressure points. Especially when they are used in a certain order and combination. The name of this discipline is not over exaggerated; touching three points could be enough for a knock out, four points for a deep knock out. And touching five points is sufficient for a knock out of which the victim can hardly awake. There are pressure points when touched correctly, the victim gets ill hours or days later. The victim could even die. In the early days these pressure techniques were tested on Chinese prisoners.

In today's Kyusho / Dim Mak there is a lot of attention for the knowledge of the human body, based on eastern as well as western medical science. In training is thought how to recover the victim from a knock out. Kyusho Jitsu is very complimentary to all kinds of martial arts.

Hapkido Yong has currently two certified Kyusho Jitsu instructors, Ron van Beukering and Louk Franken.
